Hear3D was founded by leading experts in spatial audio, acoustics, DSP, embedded systems, and product development. The company combines advanced spatial rendering with production-ready integration for consumer devices. Its work spans spatial rendering, DSP-based audio processing, and implementation methods designed for contemporary hardware platforms.
Spatial audio stack for contemporary consumer devices
Hear3D’s technology includes real-time, head-tracked 3D audio rendering implemented on current-generation mobile processors and digital signal processors. It is designed for headphones, TWS earphones, phones, laptops, soundbars, and AR/VR devices. The technology maintains stable spatial cues during movement, preserves audiovisual alignment, and delivers a more immersive listening experience than conventional stereo.

Jason Riggs
Founder & Advisor
He served as Vice President of Intelligent Audio at Harman until 2024 and has 25 years of experience bringing new technologies from concept to production. His expertise spans intellectual property and product development across loudspeakers, headphones, gaming, teleconferencing, spatial audio, and AR/VR.
Alfredo Fernandez Franco
Founder & CTO
Former Senior Director at Harman with expertise in software, embedded systems, audio, and acoustics. He currently focuses on AI-driven digital signal processing and HRTF synthesis. He holds a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Digital Signal Processing from the Technical University of Denmark, and an M.S. in Acoustics from Aalborg University.
Dr. Sean Olive
Founder & Chief Scientist
A recognized authority in audio science and a former president of the Audio Engineering Society. He concluded 32 years of service at Harman as a Senior Fellow, having led research into the perception and measurement of loudspeakers, automotive audio systems, room acoustics, and headphones. His work included the development of the Harman Target Curve. He holds a B.Mus. from the University of Toronto and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Sound Recording from McGill University.
Shimon Shmueli
Founder & CPO
Shimon is an expert in product design and development. Following executive and consulting roles at IBM and other midsize and small companies, he transitioned to academic research and teaching. Until recently, he served as a full professor of industrial design engineering at ShanghaiTech University. His product-development expertise is grounded in a multidisciplinary education that includes advanced degrees in electrical engineering, business management, and industrial design.
José Arjol Acebal
Founder & CEO
Engineer and entrepreneur with expertise in hardware design, acoustics, spatial audio, and digital signal processing. He served as a Distinguished Engineer at Harman until 2024. He holds a B.S. in Physics from Gettysburg College and studied electrical engineering at Portland State University.
Todd Welti
Founder & Principal Scientist
Following his tenure as a Distinguished Engineer at Harman through 2025, where he worked with Dr. Sean Olive on the development of the Harman Target Curve, he continues to specialize in the subjective evaluation of loudspeakers and headphones, room acoustics, subwoofer–room interaction, binaural audio, transducer-array design, and psychoacoustics. He holds an M.S. in Acoustics from Aalborg University.
